The working principle of automotive electronic water pump mainly involves the circular motion of the motor through the mechanical device to make the diaphragm or impeller inside the water pump reciprocate, thereby compressing and stretching the air in the pump chamber, forming positive pressure and vacuum, and then through the action of the one-way valve, the water is sucked in and discharged under the action of the pressure difference, forming a stable flow.

Basic working principle:

The circular motion generated by the motor makes the parts inside the water pump reciprocate through the mechanical device (such as the diaphragm or impeller), and this motion compresses and stretches the air in the pump chamber. 

Under the action of the one-way valve, this leads to the formation of positive pressure at the outlet, and at the same time, a vacuum is formed at the water pumping port, which creates a pressure difference with the external atmospheric pressure.

Under the action of the pressure difference, water is sucked into the water inlet and then discharged from the drain outlet, forming a stable flow. ‌

Application of Electronic Control Unit (ECU):

Compared with traditional mechanical water pumps, electronic water pumps are driven and adjusted by electronic control units (ECU), which have higher flexibility and precision. ‌

When the vehicle's ECU receives a signal that cooling is required (such as the engine temperature rises or the air conditioning system starts), it sends a command to the control module of the electronic water pump. ‌

After receiving the command, the control module drives the motor to rotate. The rotation of the motor drives the impeller to rotate at high speed through the shaft, forming a low-pressure area, thereby sucking the coolant from the water inlet. As the impeller continues to rotate, the coolant is accelerated and pressed out from the water outlet, entering the pipeline of the cooling system, and realizing the circulation of the coolant.
